Baltic Geocaching Adventure – Summer 2018

Baltic Cruise – July 14 – 22, 2018 (plus optional Icelandic Adventure)

Join Landsharkz and a group of adventurous geocachers as we light up the geocaching map and explore the Baltics on Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas. On this 7 night cruise we’ll be exploring Stockholm, Sweden; Helsinki, Finland; St Petersburg, Russia; Riga, Latvia; and Tallinn, Estonia.

If you join us for the optional parts of this adventure, we’ll also be visiting Copenhagen, Denmark; Oslo, Norway; and Reykjavik, Iceland!

Inside cabins start at $1399 CDN plus taxes and fees.

Why be part of our Group?

We (Helen and Chris – Landsharkz) love traveling and exploring new places; we also love to find a few caches along the way while we take in the sights and experience new cultures. More than this though, we enjoy sharing our adventures with friends old and new! We like to make the adventure as awesome as possible for the folks that join us, so we do a few things to make the experience special. For example, as part of our group, you will be able to join us for:

  • Customized shore excursions (not available through the ship) that take in the sights and also stop for a few geocaches (in most ports we’ll leave you some time to explore on your own also).
  • Custom pre-built Pocket Queries, largely based on favourite-points, ready for the cruise
  • Group dining so that you can share your adventures with other geocachers in a relaxed meal setting.
  • A meet-and-greet on day-one so that everyone gets to know each other and touch-base on some logistics related to the adventure.
  • Optional evening meet and greets to connect about the day and arrange evening social time.
  • An optional on-board mini-golf  tournament with prizes for our geocaching group.
  • Free custom coin and tag, lanyard and geo-luggage tags for our fellow adventurers.
  • Option to pre-order trackable group T-shirt with your name and personal tracking number if you have one. (leave your metal name-tag at home)
  • Photography Seminar by Chris Edley to help you get the best out of your travel photos.

Custom Geocacher’s shore excursions.

  • Landsharkz are working with professional tour operators at each stop on this cruise to create custom shore excursions that will allow our group to visit the highlights of a stop, plus visit a few geocaches along the way.
  • The posted cruise price does not include the shore excursions. The prices and detailed itineraries for these excursions will be shared with the cruise participants as soon as the details are available.
  • We will make sure there is time at each port for group members to explore on their own if they wish.
  • If you have a non-geocacher accompanying you, please let them know they will not be bored! We’ll be grabbing a few caches along the way, but these tours will have a strong focus on the culture and the experience of the destination!
  • In St Petersburg, you are not allowed to leave the ship un-escorted to explore on your own. When leaving the ship, you must be with a registered tour guide.

Optional Bonus Itinerary:

Prior to the cruise, Chris and Helen will be flying from Vancouver, BC to Copenhagen, Denmark with a couple of days stopover in Reykjavik, Iceland. They are planning to spend a day in Copenhagen, then fly to Oslo, Norway; spend a day there, then fly to Stockholm with a day to explore prior to the cruise. If you would like to join them for any (or all) of this pre-cruise adventure, please let us know and we’ll attempt to block-book based on numbers of group members.

Geocaching

This is a cruise adventure designed for geocachers, but that doesn’t mean we’ll be trying to get as many caches as we can at each stop. Our adventures are all about exploring the destinations, taking in the culture and the food, stopping to smell the roses and recording our adventures with some photo-stops. Along the way, we’ll stop to find a few geocaches… usually seeking out the ones with lots of favourite points! Many of our past group members have travelled with non-geocaching companions – we’ve had consistent excellent reviews from cachers and non-cacher-companions alike!

Group Pricing

Our group pricing starts at $1399 CDN plus taxes and fees for inside cabins for the cruise. This pricing does not include the shore excursions, nor does it include hotels costs the night before the cruise (this will be approximately $200 CDN and will include breakfast, exact pricing to be confirmed). Our group custom shore excursion details are being sorted out currently and details including pricing will be available soon.

Please note: Special promotions or savings may be available at the time of cabin confirmation, please enquire at the time of booking if you qualify for a sale or promotion on your chosen cabin.

Gratuities, drinks, air travel, spending money and insurance are not included – medical insurance is HIGHLY recommended.

Reserve now!

We have a limited number of cabins block-reserved for our group, but Royal Caribbean will take unbooked cabins from our reservation if they need them for other cruisers. On our 2016 Alaska cruise, we had people that could not join us because they decided to join us after the ship was fully booked. These cruises fill up fast, so reserve your place now by paying a refundable reservation fee. Final payment will due in the spring of 2018 (exact date to be determined).
