The Five Stans and the Caucasus 2026

Now we’re getting adventurous! Join Landsharkz as we go geocaching in central Asia and collect some rarely seen geocaching souvenirs! We’re going to visit Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan, then fly across the Caspian Sea to visit Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. Landsharkz is partnering with Inspiring Vacations for this trip – an Australian company with loads of experience providing tours in this region.

This trip will be broken into two parts for those that can’t do both. The five Stans portion will be 23-days and the Caucasus will be 15-days. These trips are designed to flow one into the other if you wish to do both!

Fitness Expectations

For our Landsharkz Geocaching Adventures, we like to keep things fun and adventurous, but we also want to make sure everyone enjoys the journey together. This trip involves walking (sometimes a kilometre or more at a time), climbing stairs, navigating uneven ground, sleeping in a yurt (5-Stans only), and – on occasion – using a squat toilet. You don’t need to be an athlete, but you should be comfortable keeping up with the group without slowing the pace. Think of it as “holiday fit”: if you can stroll on an uneven path, climb some steps or the occasional hill, and laugh along the way, you’ll be right at home on this tour.

Limited Space

This trip has very limited space. Priority will be given to guests who book early, book both trips and to those who have travelled with us before. Others will be placed on a waitlist. Once your spot is confirmed and your deposit is paid, your place is guaranteed.

Travel Advisories

We understand that some travellers may have safety concerns about this region. We encourage everyone to review the Canadian Government’s Travel Advisory website for up-to-date information on each country. Many destinations on this trip are currently rated “green” – Exercise normal travel precautions.

Our itinerary avoids problem areas and contentious border regions. For context, many countries we’ve visited in the past — such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Italy, the UK, Brazil, and Peru — were rated “yellow” – Exercise a high degree of caution. The key is always to follow our experienced guides and stay aware, as with any international travel.

Ultimately, we encourage you to travel only where you feel comfortable and confident.
